Analysis of Buildings under Earthquake Loading (ABEL)
Scope
The ABEL educational software (ABEL-Analysis of Buildings under Earthquake Loading) aims to assist the undergraduate students in Civil Engineering to comprehend the fundamentals of seismic performance of coupled soil-structure interaction systems.
DevelopmentThe current application has been developed in Matlab environment (Matlab version 2007) by Evangelos I. Katsanos (Civil Engineer, MSc, PhD Candidate) and Olympia N. Taskari (Civil Engineer, MSc, PhD Candidate), under the supervision of Anastasios G. Sextos, Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering of Aristotle University Thessaloniki, Greece. The application is also demonstrated in the framework of the undergraduate course "Programming techniques and use of advanced software for Structural Engineering" (9th Semester of the study program of Civil Engineering Department). The current project has been funded by the research program "Application of computer science in Civil Engineers education" (Principal investigator: Christoforos Koutitas, Professor).

Setup guidelines: Unzip the folder "ABEL Software.rar" and run the program according to instructions provided in the Readme.txt file.
